Why San Antonio? A Message About Our 2026 Annual Meeting and Expo Location
We are thrilled to hold the APHA Annual Meeting and Expo in San Antonio, Texas, in November! San Antonio is a diverse, vibrant and proudly progressive city with a long history of activism, advocacy and community-based public health work. We look forward to supporting the local communities doing critical work and making our public health voices heard in Texas, a state that could benefit greatly from a public health approach.
Hosting APHA 2026 in San Antonio is a win for both financial and logistical reasons — not just for APHA, but for our members, exhibitors and partners who look forward to and rely upon this gathering.

When we signed our contract with the city of San Antonio almost a decade ago, we were excited for what the city offered, but we couldn’t have known what the city would have in store for us when we arrived for the Annual Meeting this November. Brimming with arts, culture, a rich history and world-class attractions, San Antonio truly has something for everyone. We’re fortunate to know that it will provide such a warm, welcoming and delightful environment for our attendees. The heart of its charm lies along the iconic River Walk — a network of pathways tracing the San Antonio River and connecting downtown hotels, restaurants, shops, entertainment and the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Attendees of the meeting will be right in the middle of all the action!
