APHA Events

Along with webinars and trainings on key issues, APHA produces three key events each year.

Publications

APHA publishes books through APHA Press and produces The Nation’s Health newspaper and Public Health Newswire to inform and educate members and promote conversations about public health. APHA connects members to the latest in public health through X, Facebook, LinkedIn and more.

APHA Initiatives

Advocacy

APHA monitors and evaluates the dynamic social, political, scientific and global environment of public health for its members and the public they serve. We are the preeminent advocate on behalf of sound policy and effective practice in public health.

One of the best examples of our national advocacy work is National Public Health Week; during the first full week of April each year, APHA brings together communities across the U.S. to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation.

Research

APHA publishes the American Journal of Public Health, a monthly academic journal dedicated to the dissemination of original work in public health research, methods and program evaluation. The mission of the journal is to advance public health research, policy, practice and education.

Community

APHA is responsible for building a community of public health professionals that shapes the future of this industry. APHA’s Annual Meeting and Expo is an opportunity to bring more than 12,000 of these professionals together. The public health event of the year, APHA’s Annual Meeting hosts more than 1,000 scientific sessions that provide the latest research in public health science and practice, as well as over 600 exhibits displaying state-of-the-art public health products and services.
