Get ready to show your spirit in Minneapolis at the Annual Meeting! We’re excited to announce an event full of themes and activities to celebrate our communities and highlight the work we do. Pack your bags with items to participate in this year’s fun!
Here’s what you can look forward to:
Sunday, Oct. 27 – Positive Message Sunday
Kick off APHA 2024 with uplifting messages and bright smiles! Wear your favorite outfit that spreads joy and encouragement. Join us at our Positive Message Board and write your own uplifting words for everyone to see! Pick up some positive message stickers in the First Avenue Lounge located in the exhibit hall, and be on the lookout for surprise giveaways.
Monday, Oct. 28 – Rep Your School, Community or Team
Celebrate your school, local community or workplace. Whether it’s sporting your school colors, work pride attire, or your community’s team jersey, show off your local spirit and pride! Make connections with other attendees from your alma mater or community. Be sure to snap a photo and post it on the APHA 2024 Mobile App Activity Wall.
Tuesday, Oct. 29 – Purple Prince Day
Minneapolis is home to the legendary music artist, Prince. The music video for his award-winning song “Purple Rain” was filmed at First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. To honor the singer, wear your best purple attire or channel your inner Prince with a tribute outfit. Be sure to join our Prince-themed dance party in the Wellness Lounge at 3 p.m. CT. Let’s make Purple Prince Day a colorful celebration!
Wednesday, Oct. 30 – Superhero Halloween Day
Celebrate Halloween a day early by unleashing your inner superhero, because public health is our superpower! Dress up as your favorite superhero or create your own Public Health Warrior costume. Enter the costume competition at the Say Hey Lounge at 10 a.m. CT to win fun prizes!
