Ready. Set. Action! NPHW Flood the Feed
Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. & 3 p.m.
Coordinated Social Media Activation for National Public Health Week
We’re reinventing the traditional National Public Health Week chat to create a noticeable surge of public health content across multiple social media platforms. We want to “Flood the Feed” with positive, action-oriented messaging about public health. We need your help and involvement to post simultaneously with us on this year’s theme of “Ready. Set. Action!” as we highlight the strength and impact of the public health community. Sign up to participate here. (Can't access the link? Email us instead).
Activity
Titled “Ready. Set. Action! NPHW Flood the Feed,” the activation invites you to participate in three synchronized posting moments on Wednesday, April 8. Beginning at 1 p.m. and at the top of the next two hours, APHA and participating organizations and individuals will publish posts tied to a single word from the NPHW theme.
We have tools and guidance below, along with other resources in our social media toolkit.
When released together, these posts will create a highly visible surge across social media, promoting the importance of public health.
- First-person videos will be encouraged in lieu of text posts.
- APHA will post two videos for each time slot, one at the top of the hour and a second 10-15 minutes into the hour.
- APHA will endeavor to “like” all partner posts to help increase reach.
- APHA will “repost” any posts made by Champion Supporters of NPHW (minimum funding support begins at $500).
- APHA will also highlight all confirmed Champion Supporters via social media three times: April 1, April6 and the morning of April 8. Supporters will also be mentioned, when appropriate, within other NPHW activations and lead-up marketing.
Instructions
Use the video tool below to pre-record your video in advance to publish during the event, or record it live during the event.

Guidance for videos
Partners are encouraged to share a short video (30–45 seconds) to help bring the message of public health to life. Videos can be recorded on a smartphone and should not be highly produced, as authentic messages work best. Consider using our NPHW video recording tool.
Basic Video Tips
- Length: 30–45 seconds
- Format: Vertical video works best for most social platforms
- Setting: Record in a well-lit space with minimal background noise
- Speaker: A staff member, public health professional, community partner, or team
- Optional: Include your logo, workplace setting, or community backdrop
