Mustafa’s expertise centers on the intersection of disability, migration, and health equity. Mustafa studies how refugees and immigrants with disabilities navigate fragmented health and social systems in the United States and abroad. Through community-based participatory research, Mustafa works with disability organizations, refugee agencies and policymakers to identify structural barriers and design more inclusive programs.
