APHA’s Policy Action Institute brings the importance of policy to the forefront.

Hosted online and in-person, APHA's Policy Action Institute brings together public health leaders, students and professionals for a collaborative event to discuss proven and proposed policy solutions to tackle today’s most pressing health threats at the local, state and federal levels.

Monday, June 17
In-Person and Digital

The first day will feature speakers ranging from leaders in the Biden Administration to youth activists.

Participants will enjoy networking with peers, catching up with old acquaintances and learning from some of the top public health leaders of today. Q&A sessions will follow many of the discussions.

Tuesday, June 18
In-Person Only

The second day will empower professionals of all experience levels to improve their advocacy and communication skills. Experts in advocacy, lobbying and communications will teach practical skills in small-group settings.

Attendees will practice their own pitch and receive real-time feedback from specialists in the field.

Registrants are invited to attend an informal networking event at the conclusion of the first day. Take this opportunity to meet your fellow participants, speakers and APHA staff over light appetizers and refreshments.


Apply for a scholarship by April 29

APHA Student and Early Career Professional members are eligible to apply for a scholarship to the Policy Action Institute. If selected, you will have the option to attend in person or virtually, but you will be responsible for all travel-related costs. Scholarship recipients will be selected and notified by the end of May.
