Making the Public's Health a National Priority
Washington, D.C. | November 2-5, 2025
Research has shown that public health efforts to prevent disease are more cost effective - and humane - than treating chronic health conditions, so now is the time to invest in our nation’s health. Health is a human right; let’s make it a national priority.

Applying for media credentials to attend the Annual Meeting

Who is eligible to attend as news media?

Writers and bloggers who intend to produce original editorial content about the APHA Annual Meeting for academic or scientific journals may qualify for media credentials.
Media credentials for film crews and photographers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
APHA will review all requests for media credentials from freelancers and bloggers, on a case-by-case basis. Freelancers and bloggers should provide information on:
- What coverage they intend to produce.
- Which outlets they are producing work for.
- Previous work.
Freelancers writing for personal or lifestyle blogs will not be issued credentials.
Media credentials to cover APHA meetings may be granted to credentialed journalists or freelancers who attend with the purpose of producing news stories or other editorial content. Representatives from publications and other news media must represent the editorial staff.
Writers for online media outlets may register as press provided that the website provides original, editorial news coverage; editorial content is independent of advertising and sponsorship; advertising on the website is clearly identified as such; and any sponsors of the website are clearly identified as such and are multiple in number (i.e., no single-sponsored websites). Online media wishing to cover the meeting must follow standard journalistic practices.
Blogs and online sites operated by for-profit companies and brands that produce original editorial content will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must provide links to their blog and relevant content, as well as information on what content they plan to produce related to the meeting.
Persons representing personal websites, brands, platforms, video channels, social media channels or blogs will not be issued media credentials.
