Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA)
At APHA, we are committed to creating a public health community that reflects and uplifts the diverse voices, experiences and identities of all people. Our work in diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) strengthens the field and supports our mission to improve health for everyone.
Status of DEIA activities in the current climate
We sought to learn more about how federal restrictions on DEIA are impacting the work of APHA members and Affiliates. Here we share a point in time snapshot of what we learned in the summer of 2025.

In June 2025, over 500 APHA members and Affiliate leaders participated in listening sessions and a survey which sought to understand the status of their DEIA work, what support they need and ways APHA can fill those needs.
The rest of this DEIA content page is available exclusively to APHA members to foster a safe and supportive space for learning and collaboration. Given today’s climate, restricting access helps protect this space as a professional learning resource and ensures that APHA can continue providing members with trusted, equity-centered guidance and tools.
