NPHW 2018: “Healthiest Nation 2030: Changing Our Future Together”

It’s never too early to start planning for our favorite time of the year: National Public Health Week.

Affectionately known as NPHW, next year’s weeklong celebration, April 2-8, will mobilize around a theme of “Healthiest Nation 2030: Changing Our Future Together.” For more than two decades, APHA has led and organized the nationwide observance as a way to celebrate the contributions of public health workers and mobilize communities toward creating the healthiest nation. Our aim is to build creative and often untraditional partnerships between people and organizations across public and private sectors — all with a goal of elevating prevention and addressing the social determinants of health.

At APHA, we know that achieving our goal of creating the healthiest nation in just one generation will require all of us working together. That’s why during NPHW 2018, we’ll recognize the power of collective change as well as the indispensable role of a strong, well-funded public health system.

And because everyone has a stake in creating healthier communities, NPHW encourages and welcomes all voices to the table, including advocates, clinicians, policymakers, educators, business owners, artists, first responders, scientists, city planners, housing officials, students and just about anyone else. We value your perspective — and we certainly can’t become the healthiest nation without your help.

NPHW 2018 is the perfect opportunity to engage in new and forward-thinking conversations, share helpful resources and tools, reach out to new partners, and promote healthy behaviors and active living. We look forward to celebrating the power of prevention with communities across the nation!
