Can't make it to San Diego for APHA 2018? Register today for APHA Live

In just a couple of months, more than 12,000 public health practitioners will gather at APHA’s 2018 Annual Meeting and Expo Nov. 10-14 in San Diego under a theme of “Creating the Healthiest Nation: Health Equity Now.” Considering the many current threats to our nation’s well-being — from clean air to access to care — the event is shaping up to be a powerful mix of science, action and inspiration that you don’t want to miss. Even though the Advance Deadline has passed, registration for the meeting is still open. If you want to beat the lines onsite, register ahead of time.

We really hope you can experience the meeting in person, but if you can’t, we’ve got the next best thing: APHA Live. Catch premier sessions from APHA 2018 including the Opening, Monday and Closing General Sessions, and nearly a dozen special sessions on advancing health equity and impacting the social determinants of health. Watch the livestream of these sessions to participate in Q&A with the speakers, or watch them on your own time as an on-demand recording.

You can register for APHA Live either as an individual, or as a group (up to 50 people). APHA members save $100 on individual registrations and $50 on group registrations. Another benefit of this virtual attendance option: you’ll have the opportunity to earn up to 19 continuing education credits.

Just a few of the general session speakers you’ll see on APHA Live are U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams; Richard Besser, president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; Ai-jen Poo, executive director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance; Linda Blount, president and CEO of the Black Women’s Health Imperative; and renowned disparities researcher and Harvard professor David Williams. These speakers will share their experiences and perspectives on health and equity topics, including environmental justice, achieving universal coverage, the role of racism in health, gun violence prevention, and immigration and health.
