Maggie L. Bartlett, PhD

Dr. Maggie L. Bartlett, PhD, is a virologist, strategist, and science communicator working at the intersection of infectious disease research, public health policy, and trust-building. Formerly an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Program Director for the Global Virus Network, where she helped coordinate pandemic preparedness and response efforts across more than 90 centers worldwide. Her research and leadership focus on emerging viral threats, post-acute infection syndromes, and strengthening global surveillance and response systems. Dr. Bartlett is the co-creator and co-host of the podcast Why Should I Trust You?, which brings together leading experts and diverse perspectives to explore complex and often contested topics in public health. Through her academic, advisory, and media work, she is building new models that connect scientific discovery, public engagement, and system-level impact.
