Webinar
Mental Health Webinar Series: Your Vote. Your Voice. Your Health.
Join APHA for an important conversation about voting, health, disability, and civic participation.
This webinar is for the entire public health community—including public health leaders, health and behavioral health professionals, advocates, peers, families, and especially people with mental health and substance use conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities.
You will learn how to:
- Understand the connection between voting and health.
- Recognize voting as an expression of empowerment and community leadership.
- Appreciate how elections can affect health, behavioral health and disability services, as well as the communities in which we live.
- Identify barriers that can make voting more difficult for people with disabilities—and ways to address them.
- Take practical steps to register, vote, and help others participate.
This APHA event builds on the association's recognition of the relationship between civic participation and health and its commitment to disability justice, accessibility, inclusion, and self-determination.
