Stopping OMB's Proposed Rule - Action Workshop

Frustrated about the chaos currently happening at the Federal level? Worried about future Federal funding? Have you had your grant terminated? 

The APHA Medical Care Section will be hosting a comments-writing workshop for those interested in filing comments in opposition to the OMB's proposal to remake Federal financial assistance on Thursday July 9, 2026 from 6-7pm ET.

OMB's "Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance" proposal closes on July 13, 2026. The rule, if implemented, hands the administration's political appointees decision authority over all grants and discretionary spending across all federal agencies.

Submitting a comment on proposed rules is easy and cathartic. We will review the process, some high-level issues to be aware of in this rule and provide tips for writing effective comments. We will also provide some tips for going one step beyond the proposed rule and contacting your Senators and Congresspeople. 

We must continue to put pressure on our elected officials to stop this rule by any means necessary. If you have been itching for an opportunity to take action, please join us on July 9!
