Set. Action. Drawing on real examples from the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention’s Move with the Mayor® (MWTM) initiative, the session will showcase how city leaders are building sustainable programs and policies that strengthen community health.

During this webinar you will hear from mayors representing a mix of geographies and population sizes who have demonstrated leadership through MWTM.

Ed Brown headshotEd Brown - Mayor, Upper Darby, PA

Ed Brown is a 28-year resident of Upper Darby, the father of 3 children, and is proud to serve as its Mayor. Ed has worked as a Cybersecurity Engineering Manager for Lockheed Martin for the past 21 years, earning many awards and accolades during his long career and now manages multiple teams and other leaders as well. For many years, Ed worked as an Adjunct Professor, teaching technology courses at multiple colleges and universities. Before serving as mayor, Ed has long served the community in many different capacities, including School Board Director, Home & School Vice-President and President within Upper Darby School District, and Business Manager and President of a local non-profit.

Jen Childress manages the National Forum’s Value & Access and Move with the Mayor initiatives.  Jen has over a decade of leadership in both the private and non-profit sectors organizing events & convening stakeholders, including recruiting & educating lay-leaders, senior leaders, & community champions. She was named one of the National Top Ten Business Women of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) for her contributions to business, community & the association.

John Clymer is executive director of the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention, an independent, nonprofit catalyst for collaboration.  Additionally, he is an adjunct assistant professor at Loma Linda University School of Public Health, guest lecturer at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and member of the U.S. Community Preventive Services Task Force.

Mayor Denise D. Grant has served the City of Lauderhill as mayor, vice mayor, and city commissioner since 2018, focusing on community empowerment, economic resilience, and sustainable development. She has championed community health initiatives ranging from senior nutrition programs to community health drives that continue to improve the health and well-being of Lauderhill residents.  


Crystal Ruiz headshotCrystal Ruiz – Mayor, City of San Jacinto, CA

Mayor Crystal Ruiz has served on the San Jacinto City Council since December 2012, focusing on economic development, public safety, and community growth. She chairs the Western Riverside Council of Governments and the Inland Regional Energy Network, representing over 4.5 million residents across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
