Please join representatives from the National Board of Public Health Examiners as they summarize opportunities for certification in public health. Topics reviewed will include a discussion on eligibility for earning the Certified in Public Health (CPH), Certified in Disease Intervention (CDI), and upcoming Certified in Public Health Nursing (CPHN). There will be an emphasis on certification to promote public health as a profession and distinguish public health leaders.

Speakers:

Amanda Quillin, DHSc, CHES, is a faculty member at Old Dominion University and serves on the American Public Health Association Education Board. She has 15+ years of healthcare experience and focuses on health education and equity, patient empowerment, and maternal health advocacy.

Donna Petersen, ScD, MHS, CPH, FAAAS, is professor at the USF College of Public Health. She earned her graduate degrees from The Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health. She was a founding board member of the National Board of Public Health Examiners.

Kristen Stevens Hobbs, MPH, CPH, is a public health professional with 11 years of experience working in the non-profit, public health, and industry sectors. She holds a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and is Certified in Public Health (CPH). Kristen will be pursuing her PhD in Epidemiology at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in August 2026.

Pamela Gould, MPH, CPH, is a Public Health Education & Professional Development Specialist at Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Pamela is an experienced, engaging trainer, speaker, and facilitator. She is also an adjunct professor with Metro State University, a published author, a former city councilor, and a CASA volunteer.
