Making Polluters Pay: Financial Accountability for the Public Health Impacts of Climate Change
Not only is climate change one of the most significant threats to public health, but it is also incredibly costly. With the increasing number of extreme weather events such as flooding, fires, heatwaves and other climate related public health threats such as vector born disease, rising sea levels, and declining air quality, comes increased costs for families and communities.
With ample evidence that the large fossil fuel companies (e.g., “big oil”) knew of the coming harms that would result from continued use of fossil fuels, states and localities across the nation are taking action to hold those polluters accountable for the impacts of climate change.
Join the Network and our webinar co-sponsors to learn about these efforts and explore how public health can partner in building the power needed to hold fossil fuel companies accountable for the public health costs of climate change.
