Data Centers and Health: Understanding the Impacts and Taking Action

Data Centers and Health: Understanding the Impacts and Taking Action

Across the United States, we are seeing a massive buildout of AI data centers, and to meet their unprecedented energy demands, a deepened dependence on fossil fuels. Taken together, this will cause massive harm to our environment and health, including air, water, and noise pollution, energy cost increases, and numerous health consequences.

Health professionals are increasingly concerned about the potential harms and impacts and want to know how to respond. Join the Medical Society Consortium on Climate Change and Health, Healthy Climate Wisconsin, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments, and the American Public Health Association for a timely webinar series that will equip attendees with the knowledge they need to speak confidently about the health and environmental justice harms from the rapid buildout of data centers.

Over four webinars, speakers will provide an overview of the health impacts of data centers, tips for building strong coalitions and joining existing organizing efforts, strategies for combating mis- and disinformation, and concrete steps that can be taken to stand against buildouts in their states.
