Webinar

A Public Health Response to Armed Conflict Impact

In our first webinar, presenters provided an overview of armed conflict and its far-reaching impact on communities, health systems and vulnerable populations. The session highlighted the immediate and long-term consequences of war, including displacement, the destruction of infrastructure, disruption of essential services and the exacerbation of existing inequities.

Building on that foundation, this webinar will shift the focus to the pivotal role of public health in addressing and responding to the impacts of armed conflict. We will explore evidence-based approaches for mitigating harm, strategies for strengthening health systems under strain, and the importance of resilience and recovery planning. Presenters will discuss how public health professionals can contribute to humanitarian response, advocate for health equity and design interventions that protect both immediate survival needs and long-term community well-being in conflict-affected regions.
