John Auerbach, MBA

John Auerbach is the Senior Vice President for Health at ICF International, serving as the company’s lead federal health expert. With over 30 years in public health, he has held senior roles at the federal, state, and local levels. At the CDC, he served as Director of Intergovernmental and Strategic Affairs and earlier as Associate Director, guiding policy and partnerships with CMS and major health systems. He was also President and CEO of Trust for America’s Health, where he led efforts to advance disease prevention and public health policy. In Massachusetts, Auerbach served as Commissioner of Public Health, launching initiatives focused on health equity and chronic disease prevention. He also spent nine years as Boston’s health commissioner, overseeing services for homelessness, substance use, and emergency medical care. Auerbach is recognized nationally for his leadership and innovation in shaping effective, equitable public health systems.
