APHA-Wide Elected Office Candidates

 

2026 Candidates

APHA's next President Elect, Speaker of the Governing Council and members of the Executive Board will be elected by the Governing Council at the 2026 Annual Meeting. Additional information on each of the candidates can be found by selecting the links below. Campaigning will officially begin on September 1, 2026. Members are asked not to reach out to candidates directly with questions or invitations. Instead member unit leaders will be invited to engage with the candidates at a series of virtual and in-person forums throughout October and November. Candidates may also email to Governing Councilors, post on social media and host one virtual campaign event, beginning in September. Members can review the full campaign guidelines here. President Elect Candidates

The candidate elected by the Governing Council will become president-elect at the close of the 2026 Annual Meeting and Expo; assume the presidency at the close of the 2027 Annual Meeting and Expo; and then serve as immediate past-president from the close of the 2028 Annual Meeting and Expo to the close of the 2029 Annual Meeting and Expo.

Speaker of the Governing Council Candidate

The candidate elected by the Governing Council will serve  a three-year term as speaker from the close of the 2026 Annual Meeting and Expo through the 2029 Annual Meeting and Expo.

Executive Board Member Candidates

The Governing Council will elect three candidates to serve a four-year term on the Executive Board beginning at the close of the 2026 Annual Meeting and Expo through the 2030 Annual Meeting and Expo.
