Dr. Ashley S. Love, DrPH, DHSc, MPH, MS, CPH, CHC

Dr. Ashley S. Love is a public health leader, educator, and strategist who believes that innovation must always keep people at its center. For more than two decades, she has guided efforts that strengthen communities, build ethical systems, and prepare leaders to drive meaningful and compassionate change. 

Dr. Love serves as Director of the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)-accredited Master of Public Health program at Southern New Hampshire University, where she leads initiatives in accreditation, curriculum design, and workforce transformation. A former State Epidemiologist and Bureau Chief of Epidemiology, she directed biosurveillance and emergency response during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic and continues to shape national conversations about ethical innovation, health equity, and the human-centered use of artificial intelligence in public health. 

Within the American Public Health Association (APHA), Dr. Love serves as Chair of the Action Board and has been an elected member of the Nominations Committee, the Joint Policy Committee, the Governing Council, and the Section Council. She also serves as a Certified Public Health (CPH) Ambassador for the National Board of Public Health Examiners, helping to strengthen the public health workforce and elevate professional identity nationwide. 

Dr. Love was elected to the Board of Trustees for the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), where she also serves on the Finance Committee and previously served on the Nominations Committee. She has served on The Nation’s Health Editorial Advisory Group and the Columbia University Northern California Alumni Board. She currently serves as a Trustee of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education – North American Regional Office (IUHPE-NARO) and on several journal editorial boards. 

Her leadership and innovation have been recognized with multiple awards, including the APHA Judith R. Miller Award (PHEHP), the Social Learning Innovation Award, the Professor of the Year Award, and the DEI and Accessibility in Education & Innovation in Artificial Intelligence Award. She was also selected as a Leaders in Equitable Evaluation and Diversity (LEEAD) Scholar, reflecting her commitment to equitable and inclusive leadership in evaluation and systems transformation. 

Dr. Love earned her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from Columbia University and her Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) from Nova Southeastern University, where her research focused on telehealth and education for healthcare professionals. She also holds a Master of Public Health and a Master of Science in Nutrition from Columbia University and is Certified in Public Health (CPH). Her additional certifications include AI in Healthcare, Ethical Leadership, Crisis Leadership, Health Coaching, and Interprofessional Health Professional Collaboration. 

A lifelong learner and global citizen, Dr. Love has lived and worked across Europe, Asia, and multiple U.S. states as an active-duty military spouse for more than 20 years. This experience informs her leadership philosophy, rooted in service, cultural humility, and the belief that human connection is the foundation of systems change. 

Through her consulting practice, the Dr. Ashley S. Love Group, LLC, she advances ethical innovation, AI literacy, and systems leadership that bridge public health, technology, and education. Her work inspires professionals and organizations to lead with integrity, embrace change with courage, and design solutions that uplift communities everywhere.
