Our Approach
How the Alliance Works
Public health work has often happened in silos. The Alliance for the Public’s health brings partners together to break down those barriers and work in greater alignment.
Through the Alliance, partners:
Share information and strategies across sectors
Coordinate messaging and communications to strengthen a shared voice
Work together to protect policies, funding and infrastructure that support healthy communities
Help shape a long-term vision for public health systems that can better meet the needs of all communities
By working together, partners are building momentum and making progress that would be difficult to achieve alone.
Key Issue Areas
The Alliance focuses on a set of key issue areas that are essential to a strong and effective public health system. These areas help guide where partners align their efforts and take action together.
Funding – Sustaining and increasing investment in public health systems and services at the local, state and national levels.
Infrastructure – Strengthening the systems, workforce and resources that support health across communities
Communications – Building a clear, consistent voice about the value of public health, while reaching and centering new and underrepresented voices
Policy – Advancing and protecting policies that support healthy communities
Data – Improving access to timely, reliable data to inform decisions and protect health
What This Collaboration Makes Possible
By bringing partners together, the Alliance is supporting:
A stronger and more coordinated public health system
Continued investment in the programs and resources that keep communities healthy
Greater understanding among leaders and decision-makers about why protecting the public’s health matters
We invite organizations and partners from many sectors to join this growing network of people working together to protect and strengthen the public’s health.
When we work together, we can build a nation where everyone has what they need to be healthy and thrive.
