FRONTLINE invites you to join an important and compelling conversation with Dr. Mangiatordi, and Sasha Joelle Achilli as they discuss behind the scenes of the documentary "Inside Italy’s COVID War." The program will feature film clips, and a conversation about the virus’ toll on the families of healthcare workers, an intimate look at critical COVID-19 patients, and the challenges and triumphs of hospital staff dedicated to serving them.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Dr. Francesca Mangiatordi is a Senior ER Physician at the Cremona Hospital in Northern Italy. During the country’s time at the epicenter of the COVID crisis, Dr. Mangiatordi and her staff served faithfully, enduring incredible challenges while providing critical care and hope.
Sasha Joelle Achilli is an Emmy, BAFTA, and DuPont award-winning documentary filmmaker specializing in international current affairs. During the last eight years she has investigated war crimes in Syria, and produced the critically acclaimed film Stolen Daughters: Kidnapped by Boko Haram and Outbreak about the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
