Thank you, public health!

Scott Becker, Georges Benjamin, etc. This National Public Health Week, we’re taking time to thank public health professionals working to fight COVID-19, and we need your help.

Take a few minutes today to create a short video saying thank you to the dedicated public health professionals working long hours in your community or around the nation. Show your gratitude to staff at your local and state health department, to laboratory workers, public health educators, epidemiologists and more!

  1. Think about why you’re grateful for public health and how you want to say thanks. You can shout out a specific person, agency or profession or keep it general.
  2. Record your video. Aim for about 30 seconds. End the video with “Thank you, public health.”
  3. Upload it to social media and tag it with #ThankYouPublicHealth.
  4. Ask your followers to create and share their own video, too.

Once you’re done, check out the other cool work being done to raise the profile of public health during the COVID-19 crisis, including the #WhyPublicHealthMatters campaign from the de Beaumont Foundation and the Thank a Public Health Hero campaign from CityHealth.

Let’s help everyone understand the important role that public health is playing today and every day to protect the nation’s health.
