APHA 2017 Mobile App to help attendees navigate Annual Meeting
OK, so you’ve registered for the APHA Annual Meeting and Expo and made your travel plans for Atlanta. Now what? It’s time to download the mobile app!
Developed for Apple, Android and Windows users, the newly improved mobile app is designed to ensure Annual Meeting attendees have unlimited access to the meeting. The app allows users to:
- build a personal daily schedule;
- receive reminders and updates;
- engage and network with peers;
- take notes on all sessions and events and store items to remember later;
- filter sessions pertinent to your interests and much more.
“Having a mobile app for the Annual Meeting has given attendees greater control of their meeting experience right in the palm of their hand,” said Anna Keller, director of APHA Convention Services. “We really encourage everyone planning to attend to download the app now to help plan their schedule ahead of time and start learning their way around the meeting.”
As a native app, information can be accessed with or without an Internet connection, and alerts can keep users updated in real time.
A few tips include the following:
- Hold down a session in list view to quickly add it to your schedule.
- Recommend a session to your followers by sharing it via social media. Click the boxed arrow in the top left of each session.
- Enhance your profile by adding a photo. Under “more,” click “login settings” then click “my profile settings.”
- Use the “attendee finder” feature to network throughout the meeting.
- Keep your schedule organized and all in one place. Click “my schedule” to add sessions and events and the settings gear in the top right to add personal meetings and export your schedule.
Exclusive to APHA attendees, app users can get 20 percent off of two rides using Lyft during the Annual Meeting in Atlanta. Under ”general info,” click “transportation” for details.
“Not only does the mobile app help attendees better navigate the meeting, it is also a major ‘green’ initiative for APHA,” said Keller. “Thanks to the app, we can dramatically reduce the amount of printed materials and reduce printing and shipping, which is particularly important this year with climate change as our meeting theme.”
You can learn more about how to download and use the APHA 2017 Mobile App on the APHA website. Users can also review the app and give feedback in the comments area or on the download page in their app store.
