New book helps you share health information in your community
Advocates in search of tools to help spread the word about public health have a new resource available to them: The Nation’s Health, the newspaper of APHA, has released a collection of tipsheets created for the public.
“Healthy You Tear & Share: Health Information Tipsheets” lives up to its name. With 35 reproducible fact sheets, in both English and Spanish, the book’s perforated pages make it easy to post these clear, simple and timely fact sheets anywhere health tips might be useful. They’re great for public health departments and doctor’s office waiting rooms, of course, but workplaces, residence halls and schools can all find helpful tools within the book’s pages.
And unlike many books, readers are encouraged to copy the pages of “Healthy You Tear & Share.” Duplicating the messages makes it easy to share in community newsletters or church, mosque or synagogue bulletins.
“Healthy You Tear & Share” is now available for purchase online through the Healthy You website.
“We are so excited and pleased to offer this great collection of Healthy You tipsheets to the public,” Selena Ortiz, PhD, MPH, assistant professor at the Pennsylvania State University and chair of The Nation’s Health Advisory Committee, told the paper in January. “This first book from the Nation’s Health is a ‘must-have’ for those who are looking to increase knowledge and awareness on a variety of critical health topics in a user-friendly way. Health practitioners, educators and community organizations working closely with patients, students and the general population will find the book to be an ideal source of useful and important information. We are very proud of our editorial team for their hard work and dedication in making this book a reality.”
