Call for Abstracts announced for APHA 2019

Sound the public health science alarm! The Call for Abstracts has just opened for APHA's 2019 Annual Meeting and Expo in Philadelphia Nov. 2-6.

Why all the excitement? With thousands of public health professionals attending and presenting, the APHA Annual Meeting is the No. 1 scientific and educational venue to showcase your work.

As a presenter, you'll be a part of a career-building and personally rewarding experience that will help you advance in the field. You'll have the opportunity to share your research with a large public health audience, enhance your CV, expand your career opportunities, receive feedback from colleagues and more.

APHA 2019's theme is "Creating the Healthiest Nation: For science. For action. For health." While we encourage abstracts related to the meeting's theme, abstracts aligned with any public health discipline are welcome. Here's how it works: Each of APHA's member groups — Sections, Special Primary Interest Groups, Caucuses and Forums — puts out its own call for abstracts, and a single abstract can only be submitted to one member group for consideration.

Make sure to prepare your abstract submission according to the instructions provided and follow the submission process. Submission deadlines vary depending on the member group to which you're submitting, with deadlines ranging from Feb. 19-23.

Presenters will be notified of acceptance on June 3. Registration and housing open the same day.

Remember, you do not have to be an APHA member to submit an abstract. However, if your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author must become an individual member of APHA and must register for the Annual Meeting by the Advance Deadline.
