APHA 2020 Annual Meeting and Expo update
A message from APHA Director of Convention Services Anna Keller:
The COVID-19 pandemic is changing how we connect, live and learn, so we wanted to share our current plans for the APHA 2020 Annual Meeting and Expo. We are fully committed to holding this premier event in San Francisco, Oct. 24-28. We also plan to offer a virtual option to allow anyone unable to attend in person to present and participate remotely.
Registration and housing will open July 1, and we have extended the Early-Bird deadline to August 27.
We remain hopeful the COVID-19 curve will have flattened by this summer to the point where people begin to feel comfortable traveling and meeting again. With so many of our members on the front lines of this pandemic, we know they will have important stories to tell and valuable information to share.
We believe in the power of face-to-face interactions and will do everything we can to ensure the safety of our presenters, attendees, vendors and staff. We will also be following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and state and local health authorities.
We continue to closely monitor the evolving situation around the COVID-19 pandemic and are thankful to have tens of thousands of knowledgeable and skilled professionals in the field working day-in and day-out to stop the spread and prevent further infection.
We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we maneuver through this challenging time. We will post updates regularly at apha.org/annualmeeting and here on the Annual Meeting blog to keep you informed about APHA 2020. Stay safe, stay healthy and visit our COVID-19 page for resources and helpful links.
