We are currently accepting proposals for our new APHS Breakfast Club to be held at the Annual Meeting in San Diego on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018!

There are two events being held in the Breakfast Club. The first is a statistics workshop, and the second is a research workshop. You can submit an application for one or both. Please note they have different deadlines and requirements for the applications.

Statistics workshop

This workshop is sponsored by APHS, and the purpose is to help young researchers, graduate students and any other person who wants to broaden their statistical expertise. Please email the following information to Dr. Jeffrey Wilson by July 31, 2018 if you are interested. The selected instructors to each the workshop will be announced by August 15, 2018.

 Description of   workshop You will have 3 hours to present this workshop. Session 1: 8:45-10:15 a.m. with a 15 minute break and Session 2: 10:30 a.m.-noon. Please outline your course and learning outcomes. Be sure to include prerequisites.
 Workshop   Materials/Textbook List of materials/recommended reading provided by the instructor.
 Estimated   Materials/Textbook   Fee ($$/Student) If you are suggesting any materials that will cost, please state here.
 Special Facility   Needs Outline your needs for presentation.
 Compensation At this time, we are still soliciting funds for the speaker. We hope to offer some form of honorarium, but this is not yet certain. Please state if your presentation is contingent on an honorarium. 

 
 
 
 
 
 

Research workshop

This workshop is sponsored by APHS, and the purpose is to team up students with established researchers in order to build their research portfolio over the next year. The selected research will lead one of four groups. This would ideally culminate in a publication and add value to the experience students gain by attending the Annual Meeting and being a member of our section. Please email the following information to Dr. Jeffrey Wilson by Sept. 30, 2018 if you are interested. The selected instructors to each the workshop will be announced by Oct. 15, 2018.
