Who We Are

Mission – To raise awareness and promote actions related to public health issues that affect the health, functional, social, and environmental aspects of disability. These issues include the causes and prevention of impairments and disabilities, especially secondary conditions; health promotion and rehabilitation; barriers and facilitators, both physical and social, that affect participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of society; and advocacy for public policies for individuals with disabilities.

Our diverse members work at academic institutions, federal and state governmental agencies, nongovernmental organizations, community-based institutions and private institutions.
