Ex-Officio Member, Chair, Council of Affiliates
Sarah Rines is a Senior Program Manager at the MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence. She oversees statewide programming with a goal of connecting and amplifying tobacco treatment and prevention efforts across the state of Maine. Prior to joining the Center for Tobacco Independence in 2016, Sarah oversaw the statewide Breathe Easy Coalition of Maine promote smoke-free environments and worked in tobacco control at the community level.
Sarah is active in the public health community, participating in many statewide health initiatives, including on the Maine Public Health Board of Directors. She has served as Affiliate Representative to the Governing Council since 2017 and previously served as Board President (2018-2020). An APHA member since 2008, she is the chair of the Council of Affiliates and has previously served as the Region 1 Representative on the CoA.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s of science degree in human biology and biochemistry.
