Washington, D.C., Sept. 29, 2016 — More than 12,000 public health experts will convene at the American Public Health Association’s 2016 Annual Meeting and Expo in Denver, Oct. 29-Nov. 2, to present new research and discuss latest trends in the field.
Themed "Creating the Healthiest Nation: Ensuring the Right to Health," APHA 2016 will host a worldwide audience to the premier lineup of public health’s most important topics, including the Zika epidemic, gun violence, prescription drug overdose, suicide, climate change racism and the state of U.S. health reform efforts.
Opening session speakers will include Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper. The current and several former directors of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be featured during Monday’s General Session, including Tom Frieden, David Satcher, Julie Gerberding and Jeffrey Koplan.
