Melissa (Moose) Alperin

Melissa Alperin, more commonly known by her nickname, Moose, is the Director of the Executive MPH program ,which is the distance-based MPH program at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. She is also the PI of the Region IV Public Health Training Center and PI of the Georgia Hurricane Response Hub. For more than 30 years Moose has been the PI, Co-PI or Project Director/Coordinator on numerous leadership training, workforce development, and public health practice initiatives. She holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education at Rollins. Within APHA, she is the current Chair of the Council of Affiliates. Moose has an EdD in Higher Education from the University of Georgia, an MPH degree in Health Promotion and Education from Emory, an AB degree in Judaic Studies from Brown University, and is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist.
