Emily E. Bartlett, MPH, has been an active member of APHA since 2017. She served as a Campus Liaison at the University of New England (2016-2017) and the Student Assembly Social and Expo Co-Chair (2017-2018). She was elected Student Assembly Chair-Elect in 2018, serving as member of the Inter-Sectional Council Steering Committee, in addition to other Student Assembly and APHA-wide committees and work groups. She has been involved at the Affiliate level, recently serving as a policy intern for the Maine Public Health Association (2019). She is a member of the Public Health Nursing and Sexual and Reproductive Health Sections. As Chair of the Student Assembly (2019-2020), she plans to increase student engagement at the affiliate and local level, raise awareness on student activism movements, and collaborate in creating professional development opportunities as students transition to early career professionals.

Bartlett earned her MPH from the University of New England (2018) and her Bachelor of Arts in International Development and Health from the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia (2016). Currently, she attends Columbia University School of Nursing in the Masters Direct Entry/Doctor of Nursing Practice with a concentration in Family Nursing Practice program. Emily wishes to continue to bridge the gap between public health policy and clinical practice with a focus on sexual and reproductive health in migrant and refugee communities.
