Ex-Officio Member, Student Assembly Chair
Haley Moss has been an active member of APHA since 2016, serving as the Student Assembly programming chair for scientific sessions (2016-2017), treasurer (2017-2019), secretary (2019-2021), and now chair (2021-2023). She was also the Science Board student representative from 2017-2019. Haley is a member of the Medical Care and Maternal and Child Health sections. Additionally, she is a member of the Southern California Public Health Association. As Student Assembly chair, she hopes to continue on the amazing work of her predecessors and create more opportunities for students to engage and interact with peers and professionals, provide more professional development and leadership opportunities for students, and increase student engagement at the local, affiliate, and national level. She also hopes to start collecting and documenting the history of the Student Assembly as APHA embarks on its 150th year!
Moss earned her Bachelors in Science in Computational and Molecular Biology from Brown University in 2016 and her MPH in Global Health and Health Disparities from the Colorado School of Public Health in 2018. She is currently a third year medical student at UC San Diego School of Medicine and is hoping to pursue a career in pediatric medicine in underserved communities in the future.
