The site, online in both English and Spanish at www.healingchronicdisease.org, includes an evidence-based course for each disease, written by experts in the field.

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago in September announced the debut of an innovative online tool that connects people to food assistance resources in Illinois’ Cook and Collar counties. Direct2Food.org, online at http://direct2food.org, is designed to help food insecure people and families — and the providers who serve them — learn about and access food assistance programs.
Online asthma resource
The American Lung Association in August announced the launch of Open Airways for Schools, a free management program designed to help children ages 8 to 11 who have been diagnosed with asthma. Online at www.kintera.org, the site uses stories, games and role play to provide parents and teachers with the tools they need to help children take charge of their asthma and live full and rewarding lives.
Updated CDC travel book
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in July released an updated version of its popular "Yellow Book," which provides useful tips on healthy international travel. The 2010 edition, online at www.cdc.gov/travel, includes new or expanded sections on medical tourism, traveling safely with chronic diseases and conditions, and expert perspectives on popular travel itineraries worldwide.
