The possibility of deep budget cuts to the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration was the topic of discussion during a February meeting of the Friends of HRSA coalition at APHA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Public health professionals who would like to spend a year working on Capitol Hill are invited to submit applications for the 2009 APHA Public Health Fellowship in Government. The fellowship will begin in January 2009 and continue through December 2009. The fellow will have the option of working in a congressional office on legislative, regulatory and policy issues related to health, the environment or other concerns.
