National Public Health Week Is Here
This coming Monday marks the start of National Public Health Week 2008! From April 7-13, join colleagues and others from around the nation in working to raise awareness about the connection between climate change and health. During NPHW, participants will be encouraged to take the Healthy Climate Pledge and follow the week’s daily themes that will guide us to make small changes each day that can have a big impact on our health and the health of the planet. Organizations are also being asked to download the list of recommendations addressing the public health community's role in tackling climate change. Visit www.nphw.org to get involved in next week’s activities. Be sure to share what your community is doing to recognize NPHW!
Send Your NPHW Events to The Nation’s Health As you hold your National Public Health Week events this April, be sure to keep The Nation's Health newspaper in mind! An upcoming issue will feature coverage of events held around the nation, and your community event could be one of them. Send us a short summary of your activities, when it was held, who was involved, what the goals were and what was accomplished. NPHW photos and artwork are also welcome. Information should be e-mailed by April 25 to nations.health@apha.org. Visit www.apha.org/publications/tnh/NPHW08/ for full submission details.
