2006 National Public Health Week

Across the country, our built environment – the design of neighborhoods and man-made structures such as buildings, roads and sidewalks – is having detrimental effects on the health of our nation’s children.

This year, NPHW focuses on children and the built environment and the tagline is “Designing Healthy Communities: Raising Healthy Kids”. Each day of the week, APHA and its partners will encourage Americans to build healthier communities and to raise healthier kids. The week will showcase national communities that have addressed challenges in their built environment and serve as models for other areas across the nation.
