Personal Statement about APHA-SA:
The APHA Student Assembly has been integral in giving me and other students an environment wherein we can learn, work to improve health, and educate others on the value and importance of public health. As the largest student group dedicated to public health, it is able to offer students resources such as networking, mentorship, and the opportunity to present and publish their work. APHA-SA has been particularly important in helping me realize the variety of public health careers, and making me more aware of what students and professionals are currently doing to further public health.
As a development co-chair, my goal is to help acquire the resources we need to provide maximum opportunities for every student currently involved APHA, as well as our future members. The APHA Student Assembly has a unique mission and purpose, and ensuring funding for scholarships, events, and projects is an important part of helping all students reach their academic, as well as professional potential.
