Personal Statement about APHA-SA: The Student Assembly presents a prime opportunity for APHA to influence and strengthen the next cadre of public health professionals. Though it boasts an impressive membership, the APHA-SA’s size alone cannot guarantee our readiness to improve public health in the future. As such, student engagement and integration into the workings of APHA is absolutely critical for the continued success of this organization. I am thrilled to be the Student Member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Public Health. This publication has established itself as the definitive source of public health information, continually redefining our field’s research and practice priorities. I look forward to devising strategies by which to facilitate student interaction with AJPH, in addition to representing the student and young professional voice on the AJPH Editorial Board.
