APHA-SA: Campus Liaisons
The Campus Liaison Subcommittee now offers two exciting positions: Campus Liaison and Regional Campus Liaison!
Campus Liaisons play a key role within the APHA-SA by helping to:
- Serve as their school's representative to APHA-SA
- Disseminate information about APHA-SA to students, faculty, and administration at schools offering health-related degree across the country
- Facilitate a sustained dialogue between these schools and the APHA-SA
While the Campus Liaison position only takes about 2-4 hours a month, it is one of the most important roles with APHA-SA. Campus liaisons distribute information to their student body, for example, by stuffing mailboxes, posting fliers, speaking at new student orientations and to their school’s student government or health related associations. APHA-SA will provide any materials (e.g. brochures) needed for this position. This position will also provide students with a unique opportunity to become more cognizant of national student initiatives within the American Public Health Association (APHA). Regional Campus Liaison
Along with serving as the Campus Liaison for their respective campuses, Regional Campus Liaisons also serve as the primary liaison between the Campus Liaisons and the Campus Liaison Subcommittee Co-chairs. They are responsible for:
- Managing the Campus Liaisons in their region
- Disseminating assignments to the Campus Liaisons in their region
- Recruiting new Campus Liaisons within their region
- Reporting the happenings of their region to the Campus Liaison Subcommittee Co-Chairs
The Regional Campus Liaison position takes about 6-8 hours a month and offers a more diverse, expansive leadership role within the committee and APHA-SA. Each region contains between 4-6 states and may have up to 2 Regional Campus Liaisons per region. Feel free to look over the Regional Campus Liaison job description for more details.
