Current Research/Area of Study: Prenatal Care Capacity Assessment for Philadelphia; Best practices for breastfeeding support policies in the workplace to inform policy development and implementation for Drexel University School of Public Health

Accomplishments: Awarded a Samuel Fels Fund Graduate Summer Internship with the Maternity Care Coalition to repeat a 2007 study assessing prenatal care access for Medicaid recipients; Presented my research on the development of a breastfeeding support policy at the 2011 PPHA Conference in Philadelphia; Certified through DONA International as a birth doula: CD(DONA); APHA MCH Section Student Fellow 2011

Current Work: Research Assistant for the Prenatal Care Capacity Assessment study in partnership with Drexel University School of Public Health and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health

Future Work: I will participate in a task force to develop and implement an official breastfeeding support policy for the Drexel University School of Public Health. I hope to initiate policy development and acceptance university-wide. I am graduating in June 2012 and will be actively seeking an organization where I still start my career. I also will apply to a select amount of PhD programs with study in areas of Health Policy and Social Justice.
