Areas/Topics of Interest in MCH: Preconception Health, Pregnancy, Minority Health and Health Disparities.
Current Research/Area of Study: During the 2008-09 AY, I worked on a research study examining the pregnancy experience of African American women in two low-income neighborhoods of Chicago.
Accomplishments: Awarded attendance to the annual meeting of MCH Leadership Training Grantees in New Orleans.
Current Work: I will be working on my Master’s thesis examining mental health during pregnancy in low income African American women in Chicago
Future Work: I will be looking for employment in Chicago come January 2010 and hope to pursue a career in Public Health with a focus on MCH, specifically women’s health and pregnancy.
