Areas/Topics of Interest in MCH: children’s health, children in at-risk families, child abuse and family violence, child welfare and related systems.

Current Research/Area of Study: My dissertation will look at families who experience both child abuse and domestic violence, and child outcomes in those families.  I will use a family-centered approach to look at when (and if) domestic violence is identified in families experiencing child abuse, how services are provided, and the experiences of dual-violence families within the child welfare system.

Accomplishments: USF Outstanding Graduate Student Award (2009)

Current Work: I am a doctoral candidate at USF COPH.  I am currently working on my dissertation proposal and planning to defend it in the fall of 2009.

Future Work:  I am continuing to work at the Harrell Center for the Study of Family Violence, where I manage different research projects related to family violence.  I am also teaching undergraduate classes (Foundations of MCH and Women’s Health).
