National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) 74th Annual Educational Conference (AEC) & Exhibition, June 6-9, 2010, Albuquerque, New Mexico

NEHA is pleased to announce that Lisa P. Jackson, Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has been invited as the keynote speaker at the conference. Her proposed presentation plans to focus on emerging public policy in regards to environmental concerns. It is also expected that Administrator Jackson will talk about the relationship between a healthy environment and human health, and the environmental health profession's role in securing a healthy environment/healthy people world. Note the Keynote Session and Awards Ceremony will be held at a new time this year - Sunday, June 6th from 4:00-6:00pm.

What is environmental health?
Environmental health and protection refers to protection against environmental factors that may adversely impact human health or the ecological balances essential to long-term human health and environmental quality, whether in the natural or man-made environment. Environmental health addresses all the physical, chemical, and biological factors external to a person, and all the related factors impacting behaviors. It encompasses the assessment and control of those environmental factors that can potentially affect health. It is targeted towards preventing disease and creating health-supportive environments...
