Student Committee

The Student Membership Committee of the Disability Section serves two primary functions: first, organizing professional development and networking activities of interest to students and new professionals for the Annual Meeting and electronically throughout the year; second, recruiting new student members to APHA and the Disability Section through collaboration between the Student Representative and the Membership Chair. APHA members are now able to affiliate with multiple sections. If you are interested in becoming an APHA disability section student member or adding the disability section as an additional affiliation, more information is available on the APHA general membership website.

The Student Representative to the Executive Committee is Anjali Truitt, graduate student at the University of Washington (artruitt@uw.edu). The faculty advisor to the student committee is Jana Peterson, Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Science University (peterjan@ohsu.edu).

If interested in becoming involved in planning student activities, we encourage you to join the student committee.  Other opportunities for students and new professionals are available through other section committees, research submissions to the annual meeting, and participating in abstract review.  Contact the student representatives for more information.
