Volunteer For 30 Minutes (Or More If You Would Like) At The CHPPD Section Booth
Come join us at the 139th Annual APHA Conference in Washington, DC and volunteer your time and talents at the CHPPD Section booth. This is an important function of the Section, as it is our one opportunity each year to speak to folks in person who are looking to join a new section, or have just joined CHPPD and want to know how to get more involved. Volunteers are needed to staff the booth on the following days:
• Sun, Oct 30: 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
• Mon, Oct 31: 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
• Tues Nov 1: 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
• Wed, Nov 2: 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
To volunteer, please send an email to Russell McIntire, Student Committee Chair, firstname.lastname@example.org, and Michelle Denison, Student Committee Secretary, email@example.com with (1) top 3 choices of times you are available; (2) Whether you are a student or regular member; (3) Whether you are a student member requesting a stipend.
First 10 student volunteers to sign up will receive $60 for their APHA membership renewal!
As we have done in previous years, regular members will be paired with student members to staff the booth. This effort received rave reviews from students and members alike as it creates important career contacts and educates students and members about our Section and APHA needs. The section is offering $60.00 stipends for the first 10 student members who sign up and staff the booth for at least two hours. (Please note, all students requesting stipends will be asked to give their social security number after they have met the commitment as required by APHA audit rules.)
