In 2007, 205 members completed the Membership Survey. Members described benefits of participation as: personal growth, helps with activities related to their jobs, and connecting with people. Most members were interested in getting involved in issues related to community health, planning and public policy. The detailed survey results are being discussed among the leadership to identify ways to get members engaged and working towards improving community health. For three years in a row, members in the section annual survey, said networking is the number one reason they get involved in the section and APHA.
