Community Health Planning and Policy Development (CHPPD) Section Awards
Each year, the Community Health Planning and Policy Development (CHPPD) Section accepts nominations for three professional awards and two student awards at its annual meeting. The 2009 deadline for award nominations is extended to Friday, May 1.
- the Henrik L. Blum Award for Excellence in Health Policy. Nomination Form (pdf) (rich text format -rtf) | Eligibility.
- the Vision Award for Excellence in Health Planning Practice. Nomination Form (pdf) (rtf) | Eligibility.
- the CHPPD Section Service Award is given to a Section member who has made a significant contribution to the Section's operations and/or other activities. Nominations are made by members to the Section Chair, who in turn makes the decisions about the awards.
- The CHPPD Section Student Awards, are given to the best MPH and doctorate abstracts submitted to the Annual Meeting. The awardees are selected based on scores assigned by “blinded” reviewers. The reviewers do not know the names or university affiliations of the students.
All awardees receive an inscribed plaque that is presented at an Awards Ceremony during the Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association. All Section members are welcome and encouraged to submit nominations for any of these awards. The nominees do not have to be Section members.
